Acrylic

Unknowingly, 7 weeks have passed by since I started learning acrylic. 7 weeks and a total of 3 works have been created. This only reinforced my love for art.. I love art, the process of creating them and the after thoughts that generate from it.

After more than 10 years of not painting still life, my first after thought upon the completion of the above piece was a 'wow, i did it!'. Teacher claimed that I am a painter who looks into the physic aspect of the art... hmmm.. physic and me... so weird...nevertheless, it was deemed a good piece by many others... that was.. my first attempt with acrylic as a medium.

The second piece of art was one of the toughest in my opinion. Being a rather impatient person, it was a challenge for me to paint that basket. It is really no joke to paint that basket at night after a busy day in school. I love the conflicting retro feel of the cloth with the set up.

Now, this is me... Portrait painting in pastel was one of my favourite. So it was much much easy as compared to painting a basket in acrylic. Deemed by the teacher and classmates as an impressive and expressive piece, the challenge is just ensuring that my feature resemble those found on my face... since i'm known to 'disfigure' a face when painting.

So... how much resemble do you think i have achieved?

To paint, you need to put your heart in.... and just paint. heck the norm who likes painting that looks exactly like a photograph. There is afterall some differences between a painting and photograph...

now, the question is... will i continue to have the discipline to paint after the lesson end this coming wednesday?
